I love waking up in a calm bedroom with muted colors and minimal clutter. Something about it is just so soothing!

Over the weekend, I did a bit of tweaking to my bedroom. I’m always amazed by how just a few simple changes can refresh the mood of a space!

For the first time ever, I decided to pull the curtains open slightly. I’ve always kept them completely covering the wall since they are thin though to let the light in. The main reason for doing this was so that I could utilize the wall space behind the bed to lean my bed-side table against. I’ve always adored this little Yeh Wall Table, but using it in my bedroom has never been easy because the wall it looked best on was always covered by curtains.

I also decided to swap my white duvet out for my dove linen duvet – it’s such a nice textural change that is perfect for summer! And like last summer, I paired my dove duvet with my sand colored cotton throw blanket.

All these little details combined with the philodendron clippings I placed on the night stand have created an oh-so beachy and oh-so calming vibe!

And speaking of the beach, I’m so excited because this coming weekend, Sven and I are planning to take a short trip to the ocean. I’m going up to DC for a visit and since we’ll be celebrating our one year (!!!!) we wanted to do something a little special even if it’s only for a short weekend together. I can’t believe we have already been together for a year – in some ways it feels so much shorter but at the same time, I feel like I’ve known him forever 🙂

Also, sorry for my lack of updates lately. While it hasn’t looked like it, I’ve actually been putting a lot of work into the blog for the past few weeks. I did a little research on SEO best practice and as it turns out, I’ve been doing it all completely wrong! So for the past few weeks, I’ve been revising the back end information/content of my blog to make it better SEO. This has been a huge under-taking but interestingly enough, I’ve already seen a boost in my traffic even without posting any new content! Now that I understand what I’ve been doing wrong, I’ll be able to create future content and posts (including this one) correctly for the best SEO.

Good night!

Rebecca
