Just a stone’s throw away from lake Tegernsee, Parkhotel Egerner Höfe is an oasis of alpine relaxation and indulgences. Sven and I had the luxury of paying a visit to this beautiful hotel a few weeks ago, and I’m already dreaming of our next return.

Accommodations & Amenities
During our visit, Sven and I were lucky enough to call a Deluxe Double Room home for the weekend. Each morning, we drew back the curtains and retreated back to bed, soaking in the views as golden sunlight melted the fog from the mountains in the distance. The roomy accommodations, complete with a king-size bed, lounge area, granite-clad bathroom, and wrap-around terrace offered more than enough space, and I particularly like the time we spent resting there after our daily strolls by the lake.

Atmosphere & Spa
The ambiance at Egerner Höfe is refined and serene thanks to the hotel’s thoughtful interior design which can best be described as contemporary-alpine. Neutral tones and natural elements of wood and stone connect the hotel back to its surroundings, helping you feel grounded and completely at ease. Of course, this sense of serenity is only elevated within the luxurious Mangfall Spa where wellness and relaxation become the main focus. Sven and I enjoyed as much time at the spa as possible during our stay, getting our fill of R&R from the multitude of saunas, plunge pools, and lounge areas. Even after checkout, guests are welcome to continue enjoying the spa facilities for the day, making it the perfect end to an already wonderful retreat.

Breakfast & Dining
Each morning, a delicious breakfast selection is served at Florians, the hotel’s breakfast restaurant. Fresh juices, local cheeses, artisan breads, mouthwatering marmalades, and sparkling sekt are all to be found in abundance, made complete by the omelet chef who can cook an egg any way one fancies. I was happy to find all of my favorite healthy picks each morning while Sven was more than happy to have free-rein of the impressive pastry spread. A range of other dining options are also to be found onsite, including the Egerner Höfe’s very own Michelin starred restaurant Dichter, helmed by gourmet chef Thomas Kellermann. Guest can also enjoy regionally seasonal dining at the hotel’s Kaminrestaurant, set in the cozy environment of the parlor rooms warmed by an expansive hearth. And of course, an evening wouldn’t be complete without a nightcap at the hotel’s inviting bar.
