When it comes to my wardrobe, I love finding pieces that can carry me from season-to-season. I’ve been wearing these linen dresses by Simple Stories practically all year round. They’ve been perfect for layering during this colder weather, and are comfortable and cozy to wear at home or out while running errands.
Simple Stories was founded last year by two life long friends, Miky and Alexandra. Based out of Romania, they work with locally sourced natural linens and produce all of their garments to-order at a atelier near their homes in Bucharest. Every decision they make along the way is based in their shared belief that fashion should be simple, timeless, and inspired by an attitude of buying less and investing in long-term pieces that will wear well throughout the seasons. Their soft linen fabrics have a perfect weight and structure, being airy yet durable at the same time, and they have several shades to choose from in their considered collection.
My favorite of their designs is the classic Riviera dress. It’s simple and versatile, yet incredibly feminine and falls nicely without being either boxy or clingy — two things I usually struggle with when it comes to finding a slip dress. This style comes in a few different colors, and I have it in both black and white. While I was wearing each a lot over the summer, I’ve been wearing them almost just as often this autumn as well. The black dress looks perfect when layered with a knit pullover or cardigan and boots, and the white linen feels so cozy with slippers and oversized sweaters at home.

What inspires us the most is a slow and simple lifestyle. The smell of fresh coffee in the morning, waking up early in the morning to enjoy the empty streets of Florence, the feeling of air dried sheets, a good old Italian song and a glass of wine after a long day. We imagine clothes that make us feel comfortable and beautiful, and most of all that give us freedom to move and enjoy all these simple things.”
