Two beautiful accent pieces from SOFACOMPANY moved into our home recently, both upholstered in a creamy bouclé fabric of my dreams. I love the voluminous feeling and generous proportions of the Babette Lounge, designed by Katrine Bjørn. It looks stunning in just about every corner of our home, and its seat is relatively wide and open, inviting you to sit down and relax for a bit. The chair is fixed onto a swivel base, allowing you to gently sway as you sit and making it ideal to use in-between spaces. Right now we have it positioned between our dining area and lounge setting, so the swivel factor connects the two individual spaces fabulously.
The No. 9 Ottoman is a favorite as well, and it works perfectly in front of our sofa — so perfectly in fact, I have my feet propped up on it as I’m writing this post. I’ve always found these types of puffs to be incredibly practical since you can use them just about anywhere — in front of a lounge, at the foot of the bed, next to the wardrobe, as a seat for a vanity, for a child’s room, the options are endless! Choosing The Perfect Upholstery Fabric
Selecting the perfect fabric for lounge furniture can be quite a dilemma, and it’s important to choose a textile that suits your taste just as much as your lifestyle. A fabric’s abrasion resistance rating (also called Martindale or rub-count) measures the durability of its resistance to showing signs of wear. Color fastness measures the fabrics resistance to fading from light exposure or cleaning, and the pilling rating measures the fiber’s tendency of shedding or balling.
