Based out of Stockholm, Transparent is a brand that’s focused on creating long enduring sound solutions which are defined by design and quality. While the aesthetics of this system are utterly timeless, all of the functional elements are completely replaceable so that the sound and connection can evolve with technology.
[AD] Before I go any further to touch on the sound quality of these speakers, I have to mention the undeniably impeccable design. When it comes to bringing electronics into our home, I often struggle to find designs that suit my taste and harmonize well with our interior. The Small Transparent Speaker hits all the marks and is absolute eye-candy for minimalist like me. There’s something so pure and honest about the pared-back design, and I must applaud Transparent for creating a loudspeaker system from such unexpected materials. Made from a contentious aluminum frame and tempered glass, this system is a marvelous feat of thoughtful design and engineering. Beyond their beautiful looks, all Transparent systems are designed so that the internal components can be replaced or upgraded as technology evolves. And despite the compact size of the unit, it packs some serious sound — sound that’s crystal-clear as the design itself.
The current components are compatible with all contemporary streaming setup (such as Apple AirPlay, Sonos, Amazon Echo and Google Cast) and of course the system is both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. I’m not the techy type, but I will say that I was streaming my favorite Spotify playlist within minutes of unpacking. And the depth of the sound quality and base has given me a whole new appreciation for each song. It felt like I was hearing my favorite tracks for the first time — with all the soul and richness the artists’ originally intended to give.
In the images below, you can see the different corners of our home where I tested out our Transparent speaker. Essentially, it looks striking in every setting and I love the way the morning light shines through the glass. This design comes in both white and black and is the smaller of Transparent’s loudspeakers. If you’re on the fence between the two sizes, I can say that the small speaker has ample volume. It goes so surprisingly loud that I haven’t even tested it’s max volume out of consideration for our neighbors.
Because these speakers are designed so simplistically, I know we’ll always have a place in our home for them even as our taste might shift throughout the years to come. So if you’re looking for a beautiful sound system that blends perfectly into your interior while still standing out in a subtle way, Transparent is a really good option.
