Spring has finally arrived in Berlin, and life somehow feels busier than ever. Thankfully we’ve had a few sunny days to help keep my energy high, and the weather has finally warmed up enough to enjoy my favorite springtime outfits.
After far too many weeks without posting, I’m finally here to break the silence with a few updates on life (accompanied by lots of photos that I’ve snapped over the past weeks). Compared to last year, which seemed to slide by at glacier speed, this year has been flying past me at a rate I can hardly keep up with! Currently, my days are still split between work and intensive online German courses. My main goal this year is to earn my German citizenship, so of course having a firm grasp of the language is a huge aspect of accomplishing this. Once I’ve completed a few more courses, I’ll need to pass two formal exams (one for language, and one for culture and politics) before my application can be processed. It’s exciting and daunting all at once!
On top of my studies, I’ve also been busy with a few very special design projects. There are so many things that I’ve been secretly developing, and I’m excited to finally be able to share them with you all when the time comes. These projects are the start of a new chapter for me, and it feels really great to be pursuing this passion. For years, I’ve wanted to produce my own designs, but I always allowed something to hold me back from taking those first steps. Not any longer though, and in the weeks to come I’ll finally be able to share what I’ve ben working towards. If you’re curious to see more, you can visit my new IG account @byrebeccagoddard. A few vintage mid-century pieces have moved into our home that I’ve carefully refinished (like the wooden chairs and bench).
