Walking the streets of Budapest feels a little bit like going back in time.

The city’s grand mix of architecture and charming café scene make it easy to imagine how it must have been in earlier days. Budapest’s cultural heartbeat can be felt everywhere you go – whether your viewing the Parliament Building from across the river, or taking a ride across town on a yellow trolley.

You don’t need a map or a travel guide in Budapest…

because there is so much to take in everywhere you go. Sven and I were lucky enough to live in an incredible Airbnb with a breathtaking balcony view of St. Stephen’s Basilica. Staying so central in the city made planning our days pretty painless since there was so much to see right outside our door. It’s easy to fill your days with snacking and sight-seeing by simply taking the city on by foot – Budapest’s walkability makes it an ideal destination for those who like to aimlessly wander.

But for those of you who like to have a plan when traveling, stay tuned! I’ll be sharing a complete Budapest Travel Guide soon!

The snapshots above are just a few of my favorite from our first full day in the city.

XOXO – Rebecca
